Hi there, my name's Jack Lyons. I'm an expert Front End Developer from Gold Coast, Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ. My preferred tech stack includes Vue.js or React.js on the front end coupled with Node.js on the back end. I enjoy working on responsive, mobile-first websites, web apps and SaaS products.

When I'm not coding you can usually find me outdoors rock climbing, travelling the world, digital nomadding from cafes and coworking spaces or practicing yoga and studying Vedic Astrology. I also write rock climbing and travel articles on my other blog called Adventureinmyveins. It's an adventure publication crafted for rock climbers and mountain lovers who want to travel the world & build a location independent lifestyle.

Currently I am enrolled in the Asheville Vedic Astrology Apprenticeship Program. I am learning to read and interpret Vedic Astrology charts and to give readings to clients, as well as integrate it's wisdom into my daily life and work.

My background is in Urban Planning and I have a degree from the University of Queensland. I have also studied abroad in Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น, where I learnt German and studied Environmental Sustainability at the Karl-Franzens-Universitรคt in Graz. It was there at university where I also met my wife Zoe.

While I don't work as an urban planner anymore, I am still deeply interested in the emerging wave of "urban tech" and "smart city" businesses around the world. I would love to one day merge my passion for web and software development to solve the challenges of our modern built and natural environment. If you are looking for a front end developer for your urban tech startup, then please let me know!

Currently I am living on the Gold Coast, after living abroad and travelling the USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ for 12 months in 2019.

If you are looking for an expert Front End Developer for help on your next project, feel free to message me via the contact page.

How I Work

Clarity Over Complexity

I favor straightforward solutions. Every line of code should serve a purpose, and every design decision should make things clearer for users.

Communication First

Great projects are built on great communication. I prioritize clear, honest dialogue throughout the entire process.

Continuous Learning

The web evolves constantly. I stay curious, experiment with new technologies, and share what I learn through writing and open source.

Where I Write

I write in three places: rock climbing adventures, Vedic astrology insights, and web development thoughts. Explore my writing across these platforms.
